Meet Our Skilled Myrtle Beach Surf Instructors
Out of the water, I am nothing.
MEET CHRISTOPHER ELLIOTT.
My name is Christopher Elliott, and I was born and raised in the coastal waters of Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach, SC.
My Dad, uncle, Grandfather and many other uncles were Captains or worked on fishing boats.
Growing up my Dad was a charter boat captain and still is to this day. Being on the ocean daily with him taught me so much, and inspired the love of the sea. As well as the respect.
I’ve been surfing for over 20 years, and have a few local sponsors, and I’m also sponsored and featured in Salt Life.
I get so much fulfillment from teaching people the art of riding waves.
Nothing is better than seeing the smile on someone’s face after their first wave.
We chose the name Native Surf because of my family and I being born and raised natives of this area, as well as honoring my wife and I’s Native American heritage.
We do what we do out of pure passion for surfing, and love of the ocean.
We would love to have you be a part of that too.
AVEN JOHNSON
Hello, my name is Aven Johnson. I am 15 years old and started surfing in 2021 when I moved here from the NC mountains.
I am a competitive surfer and have competed in the Dominican Republic and all over the east coast. I volunteer my time helping people who have disabilities surf and participate in monthly beach clean up at Cherry Grove Pier.
I have worked in surf lessons and camps for the past three years and am apart of several surf organizations in the area.
While it is hard to put into words, one thing I love about surfing is that it puts you completely in the present moment.
I enjoy helping people learn the sport I love!
